Meet your Provider
Hello, my name is Carisa Springer. I have been practicing massage therapy for the past 27 years and counting. My passion for massage therapy continues to be fueled by witnessing the many beneficial health results of massage. I love working with clients to facilitate relaxation of the mind, and free up muscle tension of the body. My goal for all clients, is to reduce stress and create more ease of movement. I believe this progress forward allows for a more complete participation in life and life's activities.

What is Massage Therapy
Massage is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and
ligaments) to enhance health and wellbeing. Massage and bodywork can reduce chronic pain, anxiety,
stress, help improve body alignment, enhance your immune system and increase range of motion
through therapeutic touch and soft tissue manipulation. Massage is generally considered part of
complementary and integrative medicine. It is increasingly being offered along with standard treatment
for a wide range of medical conditions and situations.
Studies of the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain
and muscle tension. Massage therapy may be recommended to help people cope with the pain and
stress of cancer, heart disease, stomach problems, fibromyalgia or other conditions.

Benefits of Massage Therapy
While more research is needed to confirm the benefits of massage, some studies have found massage
may also be helpful for:
Anxiety
Digestive Disorders
Fibromyalgia
Headaches
Insomnia Related to Stress
Myofascial Pain Syndrome
Soft Tissue Strains or Injuries
Sports Injuries
Temporomandibular Joint Pain

What to Expect
Following a brief consultation, your message therapist will create a wellbeing plan during your first
session, which is personalized with your goals, and the recommended services (and frequency) to
achieve these goals.
Table massage is typically done undressed under a drape. Plan to undress to the level you are
comfortable. During your session, a range of techniques can be used, including compressions, trigger
point, deep tissue, cross fiber friction, isolated stretches, tapotement, effleurage, petrissage and
cupping.
At the end of your session, your massage therapist will provide some recommendations on what to do
or avoid for the following 24 hours.

How to Prepare for Your Massage

Arrive well hydrated but stop liquid consumption about an hour before your scheduled session. As much as possible, avoid drinking caffeine or alcoholic beverages a few hours before your scheduled session.

Do not eat a heavy meal before your massage. Consume something light and nutritious instead.

Swedish Massage

A modality focusing mainly on relaxation. However, it is also therapeutically beneficial by relieving muscle tension, increasing blood flow to critical areas, and breaking down scar tissue.

Deep Tissue Massage

Works the deep layers of muscle and fascia. Using the modality, the massage therapist can break up scar tissue and muscle adhesion, "Knots", which can limit blood flow and mobility.

Prenatal

Therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and relieves mental and physical fatigue. Prenatal massage is typically done in a side lying position with pillows to help support the body.

Hot Lava Stone Massage

Full body muscle massage treatment utilizing heated lava stones. The warmth of the stones has a sedative effect on the nervous system. This effect extends to nerve endings, reducing pain and discomfort by increasing circulation to tissues.

Studies have proven, hot stone massage can reduce stress and anxiety. Specifically, it promotes production of endorphins, your feel-good hormones. It also reduces stress hormones, cortisol and norepinephrine.

Please consult your therapist about contraindications for hot lava stone massage.

Carisa is a superb massage therapist. Very attentive to the client’s needs. She is excellent for both a relaxation massage or a therapeutic/sports massage. Able to put the client in a very chill, trance-like escape from every day stress. I’ve had lots of massages. She’s among the best! I highly recommend her.

BEST massage EVER!!
I have gone to several massage therapists and Carisa is by far the best! Be prepared for the best massage you have ever had! I’m not kidding! There is no one that even compares. She really knows how to give the most beautiful, relaxing massages. She’s also the sweetest and so much fun to talk to. Everything that you would want wrapped into one amazing massage therapist! The only sad part is that anyone you have after her, won’t compare! She’s the best! You will get addicted. Be prepared for total relaxation and recovery!

“Carisa is not only a sweetheart but she knows exactly what she is doing. She makes sure to judge where you’re at mentally and physically before ever starting the massage. She even made recommendations of things I could be doing the day before and the day after the massage just to help my muscles and body recover quicker. She takes into consideration the individual and really cares about her clients. Before the massage, I was tense and sore, particularly in my back and neck as this is where I tend to carry a lot of tension. Post massage, I felt loose and relaxed. Furthermore, her affirmations and breathing exercises at the end of the massage reminded me a lot of meditation routines; and it helped to reset my headspace and really left me feeling like more than just my body was worked on. I jokingly said she had magic hands, but she definitely does! She knows the areas to target and knows exactly what each body can take without ever going too far or pushing you too hard. She is professional and really cares about the people who come to her. I cannot recommend her enough!”
