YOUTH KARATE

Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan Karate

If your interest is traditional martial arts, this may be the style for you. With an emphasis on kata that has been handed down from instructor to student, this form of karate is direct from Okinawa, Japan. This style uses both hands and feet evenly for a well-rounded system of self-defense. The program provides conditioning for men, women, and children (over 8) regardless of physical ability. Each student trains and progresses at his/her own pace.

Ages 4-7: An easy going class for younger students. General information about karate, learning how to make a fist, practice kicking, and being physically active; counting to ten in Japanese.
Class Schedule: Offered twice per year in October/November and February/March; five weeks from 5:00-5:30 PM.

The next class will be offered Tuesdays & Thursdays from February 14 to March 16.

Cost: $25 for Members; $40 for Non-members

Introduction to Karate

Ages 8 and up: This class offers students an opportunity to learn what this style of karate is all about. The focus is an overview of punching, kicking, and an introduction to Kihons (basic memorized moves).
Class Schedule: Offered twice per year in October/November and February/March; five weeks from 6:30-7:30 PM.

The next class will be offered Tuesdays & Thursdays from February 14 to March 16.

Cost: $25 for Members; $40 for Non-members
